CTO
This is the chance of a lifetime: a founding seat at the company bringing AI to the people who maintain America's homes, with real equity and competitive pay.
Grit is building the AI operating system for home improvement, starting with appointment setting. Remodelers pay call centers full of reps to call leads and book appointments. Jackie, our AI agent, is built to do that job with twice the completed appointments at half the cost, and we only get paid per dispatched appointment.
Our founder, Edvin Andersson, started Local Builder at 14 and grew it to about $2M in revenue with a call center of 40+ reps. Jackie goes live first on that call center. We have 8 signed LOIs and about 50 large remodelers who could roll it out.
We're building the category-defining company for home improvement, like Harvey and Legora are for law. You own everything technical: hands-on for the first 2-6 months, then you hire and lead the team.
- A real-time voice agent as fast as a person and as reliable as a script
- The evals and tests that prove Jackie gets better with every change
- Taking Jackie live on our call center, then across customers' CRMs and calendars
- Hiring and leading a world-class engineering team
- The future products Grit rolls out to its customers
- You've built and scaled a product from zero to real revenue
- You've hired and led engineers
- You still write code and understand how the technology underneath works
- Voice, telephony, LLM agent or real-time experience is a strong plus
- You want your 10-year company, with the energy to match
One of the hardest open problems in applied AI, founder-level equity, and a say in every major decision. Remote-friendly; Edvin is moving to San Francisco. Don't apply if you're looking for a normal, simple job. Apply if you want to join your next 10-year mission.
Eleven short questions, about ten minutes. Then a call with Edvin, a technical deep dive, a few paid days building together, and references.
